I love the Maroon and Gold Network! More students need to become aware of the great opportunities that can come from making  connections with experienced people making their way in the world, especially when they are all from the University of Minnesota.

The Maroon and Gold Network has become a huge help for me as I've entered my professional career. It's a very user-friendly platform that makes finding alumni based on the help you need easy. Everyone that I've connected with on the network has been eager and able to help. I'm so thankful that the Alumni Association has created such a community for us!

Don’t worry about asking too many questions or "stupid questions", since those on the Maroon and Gold Network signed themselves up for it and are going to be open to questions and advice-seeking.

It was great to be able to share my experiences with someone who connected with me through the platform. As a recent alumnus, I think being able to share the job searching process and encouraging others to stay positive was a fulfilling aspect of this experience. It was also easy to use the platform.

Alumni represent a wealth of knowledge, have walked in your shoes, and hold special feelings about our time in Minnesota.  I'm currently helping a student who found me on the Maroon and Gold Network with resume preparation.

This is a great resource – don’t be timid and take advantage of it.  If an experienced professional signed up to connect and provide advice, they have a genuine desire to help (and probably enjoy it too)!

Connecting with alumni as a current student through the Maroon and Gold Network has not only helped me build my network, but has also allowed me to explore different companies and careers that I might not have known about otherwise. This information has been invaluable to me as I’ve begun to search for internships and even look at what I want to do upon graduation.

Gregory was responsive, easy to schedule a time to meet with, and had a lot of valuable insight into nonprofit development and where to start with grant writing.

I enjoyed meeting with a current student to discuss career paths in the nonprofit sector. It was also a great experience for me, as her questions helped me to reflect on my career experiences and refocus on my goals and passions.

The Maroon and Gold Network is extremely effective in helping our students and alumni make connections and build their social capital. It is particularly useful for first-generation college students who often do not have family or community connections in their career areas of interest.
