The Maroon Shirt® is the official members-only shirt from the Alumni Association. The limited-edition shirt is released each fall with a new design and vaulted before the end of the year.  The 2023 shirt design features Goldy Gopher with Rah Rah Rah!', the cheer we've shouted together time after time during the Minnesota Rouser.

The Maroon Shirt® Vault & History

In 2017, a U of M alumna approached the UMAA with her idea: create a fun, unique shirt only for members to kick off the school year that raises money to ignite student success. From there, The Maroon Shirt® was born.  This new member and renewal offer ends October 31, 2023. Any remaining shirts will be available for members to purchase until June 30, 2024. After that, it enters The Maroon Shirt® Vault forever!

A. Yes! Members are able to purchase as many shirts as they want while supplies last. This includes new members. In addition to the free shirt that is included with your membership when you join, access to purchase additional shirts is available via this page. A. The 2023 Maroon Shirt is primarily available online, but you can visit us at our office or at Ski-U-Mania purchase a shirt, join or renew your membership. 

  • UMAA offices located in Suite 200 in McNamara Alumni Center. 
  • UMAA table at Ski-U-Mania at McNamara Alumni Center two hours before every 2023 Gopher home football game.

A. Yes, but shirts as well as sizes are only guaranteed if ordered PRIOR to November 1, 2023. We will continue to sell any remaining inventory to current members after this date while supplies last. Once these shirts are gone, the design is retired to our Maroon Shirt® vault. But keep an eye out for our 2024 Maroon Shirt® tee design to be released in Summer 2024.

A. THE  MAROON SHIRT® RULES AND REGULATIONS
A NEW single membership purchase will qualify you to receive one complimentary Maroon Shirt®. (Joint 1-year memberships also include only one shirt,  but you can purchase a second shirt for $26.) Joint multi-year or life membership receives two shirts. Only members of the Alumni Association may purchase additional shirts from The Maroon Shirt® campaign. Shirts will be shipped out as orders are received. Memberships received by the Alumni Association before October 31, 2023 will be guaranteed a shirt. After that date, fulfillment will be subject to availability; if your size is no longer in stock after October 31 the Alumni Association reserves the right to send you the next-closest size up; for example, if you order a medium and stock is out, you will be sent a large. We will do our best to accommodate all requests.  Both of The Maroon Shirt ® style crew neck tees are 60% combed ring spun cotton, 40% poly. The unisex style comes in sizes S to 3XL and the women’s relaxed fit style offers sizes S to 3XL. Shirts will be sent to the mailing address provided with your membership form.
